Harry Potter!
Jessica, Jessica, Ashley and I (plus my mom) went to Prescott for the midnight showing! We got there around seven, and there was already a line! We waited until 9:30, when they finally let us into the theatre (there were 5 or 8 of them). Everyone cheered at this point - it was great not to be smashed into a line!
It was a lot of fun waiting, personally! It was great to talk to Jessica (D.) again after a long time! And, of course, the other Jessica and Ashley as well. (Haha. I said these words without realizing what it was gonna sound like out loud: "Jessica made Jessica cry!" HAHAHAHA) …what can I say? We were slaphappy!
As the night went on, we got more and more…loopy? Excited? Who knows! Then…it started!
Of course, Jessica (D) and I were right! They DID show the New Moon trailer (as the HBP trailer was before Twilight last year!) and, like I predicted, the moment the Summit logo came on and all that, half of the theatre cheered, half booed for the first half of the trailer! Haha it was great. I don't really mind the 'feud' so much - it was just funny! We were trying to drown each other out. Some people said "Harry Potter is better!" and all that.
And the first show of Rpattz I shouted really loudly "CEDRIC!" HAHAHA. It was one of the highlights. And there was lots of clapping after the trailer was done. The next trailer was for 2012 - which I want to see - but compared to the previous trailer, it wasn't so awesome. Then, there was the black screen and silence right after the end of the trailer and the guy next to me said to his girlfriend (or wife - I'm not sure!) "I'm surprised no one said 'woo Twilight!'" So, naturally, I said loudly, in the dead silence, "Wooo Twilight!"
The guy next to me laughed and I said thanks for the idea.
Of course, when the movie started there was a bit of applauding, then dead silence when the WB logo came out!
SPOILERSSSSSSS!
Over all - it was a good MOVIE. Of course, there is always differences with the book and movie. The things I really didn't like them leaving out was this:
-not explaining Hufflepuff's cup, Ravenclaw's whatever and all that. (Including the snake) This means that they will have a lot of explaining to do in the seventh movie - hopefully they don't make it too dry!
-Bill and Fleur! I missed them! Of course, Bill was never even introduced in the films….so I can understand that! But still!
-The battle at Hogwarts between some of the 'main' students and the Death Eaters.
-Funeral….I understand why they didn't, of course. They haven't introduced enough of the characters to have this HUGE funeral like in the book.
-I missed the original first kiss with Ginny and Harry! It would have been funny to see that!
-Uh, this is HUGE! - THERE WAS NOOOOOO D.A.D.A CLASSES??? How weird is that??? We didn't get to see Snape in that role! Or Harry say, "There's no need to call me Sir, Professor…" ;(
-They put too much into Hermione and Ron's relationship. Hermione and Ron don't even admit to themselves that they like each other till the seventh! ;(
But the GOOD THINGS:
-Tom Felton was BRILLIANT as Draco. -hugs- I got chills!
-It was funny! Really, hilarious! "Did you and Ginny do it?" Haha.
-I liked the Felix scene - "Harry's" lines reminded me of how Dan is in interviews! It was great!
-The acting is getting great!
-The pacing was good. There wasn't really a dull moment - and considering this is pretty much my least favorite book, (I think it's boring) that's saying something!
….Not sure what else to say. As a MOVIE, I liked it. It was good! Then, I let my 'obsessed with the book side' take over, and it makes me a little sad. Just in few places. But one thing is - I can SORTA forgive them for not explaining Hufflepuff's cup, etc, for one big of foreshadowing: When Harry is looking at the ring, Dumbledore says something like "Dark magic like this leaves -" Then he touches the ring and Harry has all these flashes, and Dumbledore says "A mark." The MOMENT I heard this I was like - OMG! And looked over at Jessica (D) and said "FORESHADOWING!!! For Harry being a Horcrux!" And Jessica's mouth was wide open! So shocked!
LOVED That.
Haha. And on a side note, I everyone laughed when Dumbledore commented at the beginning that he was sorry he took Harry away from that coffee shop girl and that she was 'quite beautiful' or whatever.
I'm horrible!
Haha. And, when the movie ended, there was dead silence in the theatre, then someone exclaimed "WHAT?!" and then there was laughter. We had a ….colorful group of people.
Once again - good movie. But I have to see it again - just to make sure!
Oh - Jessica (D) and I are geeks. The Geekest! Just thought you ought to know!
Oh - On the ride back to little ole Cottonwood - we found that the more sleep deprived a group of teenagers get, the more slaphappy and crazy they get! (Espeically Ashley - Oh my gosh! She was singing Potter Puppet Pals, sound of music, and a bunch of other things! Haha)
Oh - I also thought it was hilarious that in line for the movie, a lot of people were talking and singing about A Very Potter Musical! I loved it as well, and told my friends to watch it! LOVE!
Ok, seriously....that's all.
